At 5/16 inches long and with a self-drilling point, it pierces through the wall of the Wet Dry Shop Vacuum Hose Adapter (no pre-drilling required) and bites into the pipe without breaking through the pipe wall. That means no catching of debris as it travels in your airflow lessening the chance of clogs.
In addition to plastic pipe, this self-drilling screw can be used on woods and thin metals.
